Sylvan executed a large-scale piping and welding scope for a secure, highly technical federal research facility, demonstrating strong self-perform performance, and complex project coordination. The work included the completion of more than 7,000 pipe welds and was largely self-performed, totaling over 52,000 labor hours, which provided increased control over quality, scheduling, and execution. The project also required oversight and integration of numerous subcontracted teams across multiple disciplines, demanding rigorous coordination and consistent communication throughout all phases of work.

The project was successfully delivered through disciplined project management, advanced quality control practices, and a strong commitment to safety. A key contributor to success was the implementation of 3D modeling as a quality control tool, which improved installation accuracy and significantly reduced rework. Sylvan effectively coordinated the efforts of 13 subcontractors, maintaining alignment across trades and schedules while meeting demanding performance expectations. Most notably, the project was completed with zero safety incidents, underscoring Sylvan’s ability to execute complex, labor-intensive work safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards in a challenging and regulated environment.
