Hankook Tire Manufacturing Tennessee, LP operates a large tire manufacturing facility in Clarksville, TN. To support growing production demands, the company initiated a boiler plant expansion—a critical investment to ensure a reliable steam supply across the facility. Sylvan was selected as one of the mechanical contractors to execute this scope, bringing industrial expertise and a strong commitment to safety to the project.

Sylvan deployed an experienced mechanical team with deep expertise in industrial boiler systems and large-scale plant installations. The scope included the installation of three 1,500-horsepower boilers, a deaerator tank, surge tank, and all associated piping within a newly constructed 7,000 sq. ft. boiler plant. Working closely with the general contractor and multiple mechanical trades, the team emphasized detailed planning, sequencing, and coordination to maximize efficiency within a confined footprint. Clear communication across stakeholders supported alignment in a multi-trade, active construction environment tied to ongoing facility operations.

During construction, external equipment delivery delays impacted the original installation sequence. In response, Sylvan worked with project partners to re-sequence activities and adjust field execution plans, maintaining steady progress and minimizing disruption to the overall schedule.This adaptability, combined with close coordination across trades, allowed the team to sustain productivity within a high-activity jobsite. Across nearly 10,000 manhours, Sylvan maintained strict safety protocols and consistent oversight, completing the work without a single recordable incident.
