Robert
Metz

President & Chief Executive Officer

Robert Metz is responsible for all aspects of Sylvan Group’s business strategy, corporate development, and ongoing operations. Over the course of his 16-year tenure as CEO, he has guided the organization through transformational expansion phases. Under his leadership, Sylvan has evolved into a premier tech-powered Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and multi-trade contracting platform, delivering exceptional execution and maintaining strong customer retention rates among its Fortune 500 client base.

Following Sylvan’s acquisition by E-3 Tech, LLC, Robert is leading Sylvan’s growth as a premier technology-centric MEP construction platform with extensive services delivery across North America. In his role, he focuses on harnessing next-generation AI innovation to deliver successful client outcomes across complex, large-scale projects in data center, government, mission-critical, automotive, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.

Professional Achievements

Robert brings extensive experience in operations, general management, corporate development, and sales across both Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial organizations:

  • Tanenbaum-Harber / RFF Associates: Served as Executive Vice President and Director of Corporate Development for this construction-insurance and surety brokerage consolidation owned by Olympus Partners, coordinating growth initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic hiring.
  • Wachovia Insurance Services: Served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the New Jersey Region, holding P&L responsibility for over $250 million in annual revenue. Prior to that, as COO of the Northeast Division, he oversaw M&A activity and operational management across eight regional offices.
  • Peterson Petroleum of New Hampshire: Began his career serving as President and Chief Operating Officer of this regional gasoline and heating oil distributor in New York and New England.

Education

Robert received a B.A. in History from Colgate University
and an M.B.A. from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University
