Project Highlights
Ford Oakville Assembly Plant – Oakville, Ontario
Ford of Canada is investing $3B to transform its Oakville Assembly complex—spanning over 5M sq. ft.—as production transitions in the Super Duty Pickup. Sylvan is contracted to assist with advancing one of Canada’s most significant manufacturing milestones. We are supporting this large-scale project with general assembly tooling, conveyor installation, paint shop robotics and electrical retrofits, as well as body shop work. To ensure successful execution, we reallocated employees and resources from our large NextStar Battery Plant project to support this effort. Demolition is officially complete, and installation is currently in motion.

Service – John Mansville Chiller Repair
Sylvan’s Service team recently completed a critical chiller repair project at Johns Manville’s facility in Etowah, Tennessee after the unit had been unusable for over 18 months. Previous contractors, including the original manufacturers, were unable to restore the chiller. Sylvan provided a comprehensive suite of services including leak search and repair, tube cleaning, pipe realignment, full system maintenance, and chiller start-up and evaluation. Our team overcame significant piping challenges and successfully ensured the restoration of functionality.

Hankook Tire Manufacturing Boiler Install
Hankook Tire Manufacturing TN, LP expanded its Clarksville facility with a new 7,000 sq. ft. boiler plant to support production. Sylvan was contracted directly by Hankook to install three 1,500 HP boilers, 1 DA tank, 1 Surge Tank, and all associated piping. Despite the challenges of being in tight quarters and having equipment delays, our lean crew of eight kept the project on track.

LS Brinker/Barton Malow awarded our Michigan team this project. With the acquisition of Great Lakes Mechanical (GLM), we partnered together to complete a critical infrastructure project in Detroit. Our team completed the mechanical installation – including BIM, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and building management system – for this 69,000 sq. ft. facility. The building incorporates redundant chilled and heating hot water plants, and custom air handling units with infrared air purification and filtration systems. Recently, we were also contracted to deliver a scaled down version of this facility in Romulus, MI.
