Sheet Metal Estimator
Sylvan, Inc. is a market-leading, trusted automotive services contractor to Fortune 500 companies. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to produce accurate cost estimates for various projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of metal properties, production processes, and cost factors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review and analyze project specifications, blueprints, and CAD models to understand sheet metal requirements.
- Conduct research to gather data related to labor costs, materials, production times, and expenses.
- Calculate the total cost of sheet metal components using specialized software and cost estimation techniques.
- Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and quotations to clients or project managers.
- Communicate with suppliers, manufacturers, and clients to negotiate pricing and finalize contracts.
- Work closely with the design and production teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of sheet metal fabrication projects.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sheet metal estimation or a similar role.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
