Interpreter
Job Responsibilities
- Translate verbal communications between English-speaking supervisors and Korean-speaking workers, and vice versa
- Assist in conducting safety briefings and training sessions, ensuring that all workers understand safety procedures and regulations
- Facilitate effective communication during meetings, discussions, and coordination efforts among team members
- Provide language support to subcontractors, suppliers, and other associates as needed
- Help with cultural and linguistic adaptation to enhance collaboration and teamwork on the construction site
- Act as a liaison between different language-speaking groups to promptly resolve any conflicts or misunderstandings that may arise
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient in both English and Korean, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience as a translator or interpreter, preferably in a construction or similar field
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Ensure clear understanding among all parties through accurate translation with attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and dynamic work conditions on the construction site
- Must adhere to safety protocols and regulations while on-site
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or formal training in translation or interpretation of English and Korean languages
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Additional education in a related field is an asset. Minimum high school diploma required
- Previous experience working on construction sites or in related industries
- Familiar with construction terminology and procedures is considered an asset
- Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically Excel
- Strong communication and organization skills
- A basic understanding of the HVAC&R industry or battery plant operations is considered an asset
- Experience with multinational companies or diverse industries, showcasing your adaptability and global perspective
