Project Controller

Sylvan, Inc. is a market-leading trusted industrial services contractor to Fortune 500 companies.

The Project Controller is responsible for our Canada Windsor project, invoicing in a fast-paced environment.  He/she will be responsible for curating of the data required to assure that we submit accurate invoicing and avoid delays.  There will be translations from our ERP system.


Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and preparing internal financial reporting.
  • Understanding of construction law and the lien process is important
  • AP, AR, payroll data accumulation and processing, general ledger, job financial preparation and review.
  • Experience with job cost accounting, percent complete revenue recognition, over/under billings, labor productivity analysis, quality reporting, and equipment costing if required.
  • Must have strong leadership, analytical, communication both written and verbal is important.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills is a must.
  • An intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Excel is required.
  • Operational reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to lead and also work within a team environment.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field required or equivalent work experience will be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a financial administrator or similar, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, Excel & Word.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience with Union reporting preferred, but not required.
